19 Oct New business name: Chemène Sinson
What’s in a name?
Quite a lot, as it turns out.
After 25 years trading as Blackwater Projects, I’m excited to share my new business name – Chemène Sinson.
I know, it’s not particularly original, but trading as – well, me – is exciting. I am looking forward to continuing my current work and to exploring new possibilities.
Only the business name changes – nothing else!
I will continue to work as I currently am – as a speaker, trainer, instructional designer, and advocate for quality adult education and training. I will simply use a different business name to do it (for most things – details below)…
For most products and services (except TAE resources), I will trade as Chemène Sinson.
Both Blackwater Projects and Chemène Sinson are business (trading) names that are owned by our Pty Ltd company. Therefore, all company details remain unchanged except the business name.
We have begun building a new website at chemenesinson.com. It remains in development, but visit the site at any time to check our progress!
For matters relating to TAE resources, I will continue to trade as Blackwater Projects.
This means that:
- you can still contact me through Blackwater Projects
- IP for TAE resources that I have written will continue to be attributed to Blackwater Projects
- the Blackwater Projects website will be maintained as a source of information and licensee download portal for TAE resources.
Why the change?
We love the Blackwater name. For us, Blackwater represents home:
- Blackwater Projects is named after the Blackwater River, which runs through the town of Maldon in Essex (England). Maldon salt comes from Maldon. So does my wonderful husband – a musician, who established Blackwater Music Pty Ltd decades ago, after immigrating to Australia. Blackwater reminds him of home.
- Anyone who knows me, knows that I spent many years in the water, as a competitive athlete. So water feels like home to me, too.
Here’s a photograph of the Blackwater River, taken on our last visit home to Maldon. How could you not love this?
In recent years, several entities around the world have begun to use the term Blackwater in their business names. So, the time has come to emerge from behind the Blackwater Projects name and operate as myself.
I look forward to continuing our work together – and exploring new opportunities – as myself.
Contact me if you have any queries. Cheers, Chemène
